Enclosure.2.

REPORT BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL on Ordinance No.26 of 1888

C. C.

ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE,

19th December 1887

I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled

"An Ordinance to apply a sum not exceeding "One Million one hundred and seventy six thousand and Four hundred and Forty nine dollars" to the Public Service of the year 1888;

and I am of opinion that the Ordinance makes a considerable increase in the number of public officers and authorizes an increase to the salaries of others: it should not be assented to until Her Majesty's pleasure thereon has been signified.

P./ Ed.. J. Ackroyd, Acting Attorney General.
